Does a Shift Need Approval from a Carer to Confirm the Open Shift?

1 min read Updated October 2026

Yes.

More Information:

An open shift must be accepted by at least one carer before it is confirmed.

Notifications are sent to all selected carers when the shift is published.

The first carer to accept the shift is automatically assigned to it.

Once the shift has been accepted, it is removed from the notifications of the remaining carers.

This process helps ensure the shift is filled efficiently while preventing duplicate assignments.
